Recently I was at Yosemite NP, and while there we saw some giant seqouia trees. If you have never seen one up close, you really should. I was also in Seqouia NP but that was quite awhile ago, but I remember my father driving his 1961 Chevrolet Parkwood station wagon thru one of the giant trees they had turned into a attraction.

Somehow, seeing them in the snow makes them seem even bigger:

There is one tree, on it's side that is a drive-through. We took our pickup through it when in Sequoia.

here's some info on drive thru redwoods:

Is there a drive-through tree?
The famous drive-through tree, the Wawona Tree, was a giant sequoia in Yosemite National Park. It fell over in 1969 under a heavy snowfall. There are three coast redwood drive-through trees on the coast. All are private businesses, which charge a small fee to drive your car through the tree. From north to south they are: Klamath Tour Thru Tree, Myers Flat Shrine Tree, and Leggett Chandelier Tree.

If you ever get the chance to be in Yosemite Valley during a full moon it adds a whole 'nother look to the place. The granite outcroppings like Half Dome an El Capitan plus the waterfalls glow in bluish light. Very beautiful.

Seqouia National Park is the best place to see the giants.

On one of the downed trees they have cut a cross section and listed historical events corresponding to the growth rings of the tree. Goes back to ancient times.
