Parkersburg WV, Marietta OH area

We are wanting to take a trip to this area and was wondering what are interesting things to do and see. Any ideas is greatly appreciated!!

We enjoyed Blennerhassett and Fenton Glass, but felt nervous camping at the fairgrounds as we were the only people in the park. No one even to check you in. Next time we would want to stay somewhere else. There was also a cg next to the fairgrounds, but it looked kind of rough.IMHO

The rail trail has some old tunnels. The park is close to Parkersburg

Marietta has a sternwheeler museum near the fairgrounds.

Yes, yes and yes! :B

We love anything outdoors, historical places to visit, unique places to shop etc. We are open to anything, especially things that lets us see what the area is all about.

Leith Run Campground is right along the Ohio river in the Wayne National Forest.They have electric hookups.

Visit the Lafayette Hotel. It is on the junction of the Ohio and Muskingum rivers.

Visit Blennerhassett island for a touch of history.

Visit the glass factories.

Visit the Wayne National Forest.

Drive route 26 and see several covered bridges.

Visit the wood worker store in Parkersburg.

These are just some things off the top of my head, the spelling may not be correct. I'm sure there are more things in the area.
