Parks in or very near Birmingham Alabama

My wife will be having surgery soon at UAB Hospital in Birmingham Alabama. We live in Georgia, about 250 miles from UAB and instead of staying in a Hotel while wife is in the hospital i thought I would pull my camper over there if i can find somewhere pretty near. Your thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated -

Looking like Hoover may be my best bet - If I were going on vacation i would choose the state park for sure -

Some hospitals have a few RV parking spots available for patients' family Might be worth checking, although it would probably just be electric, if that.

You would definitely enjoy Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham. That is of surbub of Birmingham. I pray all goes well at UAB. That is one of the best healt facilities in the nation.

Not really familiar with the area, but have been researching camp sites on our way to Panama City, FL and ran across this one. Oak Mountain State Park. Don't know the proximity to the hospital but hope this helps.
