Good day all
My wife and I will be departing New Brunswick Canada in late October to spend a couple months in Ft Lauderdale until the end of January and are planning on traveling across the southern US to Arizona until early April 2025. We are traveling in our 2015 Tiffin Allegro Bus 45 ft and would like to know what to look and plan for during our trip West. Our preliminary research suggested we travel on Highway 10W and travel on Highway 40E on our return trip. Would anyone have any suggestions or comments in terms of weather during that time period? Thank you

That sounds like an amazing trip! Traveling from New Brunswick to Ft. Lauderdale and then across the southern U.S. will give you some great experiences.
For weather, late October in the South should be mild, but be prepared for varying conditions as you head west. Arizona can be warm during the day but cool at night, especially in early spring.
Highway 10 is a good choice for your westbound trip, but be aware of possible traffic around major cities. On your return, Highway 40 is also solid, though it can be a bit more scenic and less direct.
Make sure to check for RV-friendly campsites along your route and keep an eye on weather forecasts as you travel. Safe travels!

Everything I said is true but probably irrelevant as I misread your original post. It seems you trip through Texas might be in January, not in April as I first thought. Weather could be anything from delightfully warm and sunny to a snowstorm or freezing rain (which is worse!) I-10 would be a better choice all the way in Winter. Still save my response above if you ever come through Texas in early Spring. It's all good!

If you plan to head west on I-10 in April these are some ideas based on many trips from Florida to East Texas. First of all if you plan you trip with a possible stop in the panhandle area of Florida you will find there some of the best beaches in the entire country--even in the entire world. Coming from the east, I am referring to the area from Panama City, FL (St. Andrews State Park) all the way to Pensacola (Fort Pickens Campground in the National Seashore). I will mention also Topsail Hill State Park near Destin with those same beautiful beaches.
In Louisiana you will be passing through the "Cajun" area of South Louisiana. If you do not want to visit New Orleans specifically, use I-12 when it branches off from I-10 near Slidel, LA. Just off I-12 there are Fountainbleau State Park and Fairview Riverside State Park.
In April the bluebonnets will be in bloom in the Texas Hill Country. Take any route toward Fredericksburg and allow time to drive the Willow City Loop (at least a full day). Not every year will be a "banner year" but always there will be bluebonnets. A nice visit to Kerrville is also possible. There is a "Western Art" museum worth a visit. Many more possibilities in the Texas Hill country. An alternative route through Louisiana and Texas is I-20 through Jackson, MS, Vicksburg, MS, Shreveport, LA, Tyler, TX, and on to Dallas. I live 25 miles north of I-20 as it passes through Longview, TX. We have Caddo Lake State Park, Tyler State Park, and COE campgrounds on Lake 'o The Pines. All just off I-20. As for Dallas/Ft. Worth, the good news is that I-20 is an easy bypass unless there is a traffic accident (which I have never encountered). I have been able to tow an RV trailer at highway speed on I-20 around Dallas and Fort Worth without any problem. (No guarantee, but that is my experience) The weather along I-10 and I-20 in April would ordinarily be ideal, avoiding the high humidity and temperature that will begin in May, but weather can be very different from day to day and year to year.
Maybe this is enough for now. If you have any questions about this part of your trip I will be glad to respond to a personal message. I have stayed in many of the campgrounds along I-10 and I-20 that I have not mentioned here.
