Has anyone ever done the Greenridge trail off of Deadmans Road or from the south near Chambers lake? Just wondering if it's fun on a quad.
It's been many years since I've done it, but yes, I have. From south to north. Some good camping areas at the beginning, but tight for anything bigger than a popup. Most tenters there, folks with trailers/MH usually stay at Chambers Lake.
Had a Jeep CJ at the time, it was a challenge, primarily due to boggy/muddy conditions fairly early (early July) in the season. It dries out a bit later in the season, though not a lot. Some areas are permanent bogs/mud pits, but there's trails around them, some legal, some not. Don't think it would really be suited for ATVs due to the bogs/mud pits. It hasn't changed much over the years and the USFS has shut it down on occasion to allow it to recover some. In addition to the bogs/mud pits, there's lots of rocky areas as well, suited for a Jeep to challenge.
If you Google Green Ridge Trail, there's some pictures that will give you a better perspective of what I'm talking about. Though it's been years since I've been on it, the trail hasn't changed much over the years; degree of difficulty simply changes with each new season.
