Weather in Monument Valley & Moab, UT?

Is late June too hot to enjoy those areas?

I'm thinking about going there before heading up to Grand Teton and Yellowstone the 1st and 2nd week in July.

Since my wife and I are not into hiking much, we've decided Monument Valley and Moab, Ut are doable.

Thanks for the advice, and for pointing out my "senior" moment. ๐Ÿ™‚

Certainly is. I'll just have to chalk it up to "a senior moment".

We were in Moab and Monument Valley in August 2015. As mentioned, if you are going hiking at Arches, get out in the morning. We generally went out about 8:00 and went for 3+/- hours. A bit toasty toward mid-day, but not a big deal.
Do the jet boat on the river - Moab Jet Boats -- you'll get wet and the water is cool.
Also, our favorite was driving a 4x4 on a tour of Hell's Revenge. It was soooo much fun T- Rex rental

Yes, it will be hot, depending on what you will be doing. If you're hikers, plan to hit the trail at 6-7am. If you're just driving around siteseeing you can do it all day without issue, getting out to view the sites.

It's doable. As agesilaus said, do your hiking earlier in the morning. Get tour tickets for the fiery furnace tour in advance.

Arches NP is under construction this year (2017) for the roads, so be warned.

Moab and Arches is hot, depends on the weather of course. We've visited Arches several times in June/July and unless you get out really early, 7 or 8 AM, you will roast. There is no shade on the trails at all.

You'll be in your vehicle or in one of the tour jitneys so Monument Valley isn't a big problem.

Wear a big hat and carry twice as much water as you think you'll need.
