Dinette removal

We are finally removing dinette! Raised platform with large bolts under carpet. What is the best option for removing them? Grind down? Also has anyone put wood down on raised floor? How did you handle the 2โ€ front of the platform?

my guess would be if they are on the slide you would have to run the slide out and they will be under the slide floor. jmho

I should have been clearer. The dinette and the fridge are on the raised slide. We will remove carpet tomorrow and see whatโ€™s under. The storage bins are directly under the slide. Do not see any way of finding them and backing them out

The picture looks like the dinette is in a slide. Looks can be deceiving though.

If it is a slide, I don't think I've ever seen wood flooring in one. The obvious problem as OP suggested is the transition between floors. If its fixed and doesn't move, there might be ways to trim around the height difference. If it slides though, it will be harder to do anything with a hard flooring that looks good and will hold up. I've seen lots of vinyl with wood grain patterns in slides. They usually extend over the slide edge and have a reinforced edge sewn to the vinyl kind of like they do with carpet.

Mine had a large flat metal plate under the floor with the bolts welded to it to secure the seat and the seat belts that were there.

Whats under the raised section.
The Manufacturer didn't put there for no reason.

If that raised platform is not in a slide, you should be able to find the other end somewhere under the floor. You may have to remove some of the underbelly to find them. You will probably want to get them completely removed. Without a nut on the top side, if they wiggle and fall down through the floor, who knows what kind of damage may be done if one falls on through hits something while you are traveling.

Look under the rig for the other end of the bolts. Might be in a bin or up between frame pieces,, but the will be there, somewhere. We did not have a raised area, so it was just a matter of looking for the other end of the bolts. BTW, we travelled to shows for many years,, mostly east side of the country.
