How difficult are these to install? Do I need both front and back? 5th wheel installation.

Front were a piece of cake. Rears required a special bracket that dropped the pads of the feet dow a couple of inches and would have caused problems. Never installed the rear ones and the inlaws were happy. Oh yeah, they are on my in laws trailer

Once I quit trying to use the self tapping bolts that came with it and bought a 1/2" tap it was pretty easy. Since I have an enclosed underbelly and could not tell where metal was in the rear, I installed a 2" sq tube across the rear to mount the JTs. Worked very well. Front was no problem.

This is a picture of the rear.

I used a tripod the first year. Not even close to what the JTs will do.

When in bed (at front) I feel like I am in a boat in the ocean.

Not hard, the instructions a pretty clear. You may have to adjust based on your trailer and it does require drilling through metal.

As to needing the back ones...how much does your trailer rock and role? You could install the fronts and try it for a trip before doing the back.
