Friend wrecked his RV and gave me the tank level gauge and sensors pictured. The wiring diagram is pretty primitive and I can't determine the manufacturer. Wondered if anyone recognized the set up and could answer some questions.
1. I am told that I need to adhere 2 foil strips to the tank about 3-4" apart and the copper colored patches go on each strip. Is this correct and if so, about how far from the top and bottom of the tank should the strips be?
2. There are 3 leads from each sensor, red, black and blue. The wiring diagram shows only the color wire from each sensor to the gauge. I am guessing that the wiring diagram omitted showing that the black [positive] and white [negative] leads from the sensors tap into the white and black wires from the gauge to the battery and ground, respectively.
3. Does the "levels test" switch turn on the gauge so that it is otherwise off to save battery power?
