2018 Jayco North Point bedroom remodel

We would like to remodel the bedroom in our rig by taking out the king bed and replacing with a twin. The twin will fit perfectly, sideways, in the head of the slide. That will free up an incredible amount of floor space. We would then get a small swivel chair and end table….make it a seating area so hubby can watch tv, movies, etc with ease. Sitting on bed is uncomfortable. An RV tech said we would not be able to due to the slide tracks, that they could not be modified smaller.
Anyone have thoughts on this?
Anyone know how I can get ahold of the spec’s for the slide?
Thanks

Thank you for that information. We have no intention of disturbing the slide mechanism top or bottom. Main concern was that there are no slide 'rails' under the bed that will need to be modified. Sounds like there is no reason not to go forward with the remodel.

Your model has the Schwintek Slide rack system in the front Bedroom. NOTHING about the Slide mechanism can be modified. Once you remove the Bed(brochure states the LARGEST bed is a Queen, no King option), there will be wires under the bed frame that will be exposed. Those wires go to the slide box overhead lighting. Depending on HOW Jayco built the system, there may also be the slide rack wiring exposed once you remove the bed. These things can be cleaned up and partially or totally hidden. BUT as noted by me, the slide box and Schwintek Rack slide out system, the mechanical cannot be modified at all. Under your existing bed, you can pull up the floor under the bed frame and also when retracted look at the area under the headboard to see those wires. Nobody at Jayco can tell you how to do this type modification because they NEVER do this type modification and OEM's NEVER give modification info due to liability. But it can be done and look good if done right. Doug

Thanks for the input.

I would call Jayco with the VIN and see if they can give you the specs. Years ago I had a black tank problem and they emailed me the design specs showing all the tank measurements and placements of the fittings.

Getting ahold of the slide specs will be near impossible IMO. Building around the slide tracks may be possible. Dive in and try!
