Here is a YouTube video made by a female trucker (using aerial shots) showing some techniques on backing a trailer. Some is relevant to 5th wheels.

Pay particular attention to the trailer tire scrubbing at the beginning of the video. That shows you how much strain there is on the tires and suspension.
