Glowsteps $50.00 off

Just placed my order for a set of Glowsteps. They have $50.00 off until June 5th if ordered from the factory website. My old 3 step unit measures from 10" to 8 3/4" between steps and are starting to wobble. I hope these are a bit easier on the old knees. Can't wait to try them.

Yes, nice steps, but at what price! We replaced the old three step entrance steps with a set of Lippert standard 4 step. I simply add angle brackets to the bottom of the frame rail and very stable even at my 230#.
In addition if we block the bottom step rock solid, at less than half the price. I have finished covering the steps with the plastic "Astro Turf" very nice

X2!

Appears the aluminum is simply acting as a giant heat sink. Which it should. Very interesting indeed.

I'll also be curious to see how they are to walk on barefoot in our southeast August heat. Granted, the awning is usually out, but not if it's too windy.

It finally got hot enough here to get some numbers on the GSR in the hot sun.

Outside Temp 85 F measured with Acu-Rite Model 00754W4 mounted in the shade under the door side slide approx. 10โ€™ away from the GSR and 2โ€™ above grade.
Steps are in direct sunlight since 11:00am or 5 hours

Concrete temp directly in front of bottom step 104 F
Bottom step 87 F
Third step 87 F
Second step from top 94 F
Top Step 95 F

I would say the top two steps are warmer due to the reflection off of the white entry door. When stepping on any of the steps bare foot no noticeable heat is noticed, but when the concrete is stepped on it is noticeable hotter.

The temp was taken with:

Klein Tools
Infrared Thermometer
Model# IR1000
Distance from IR1000 to each measured surface was 6โ€.

My conclusion:

The GSR is much cooler in direct sunlight vs concrete. So much so as to just barely feel warm.

Got mine installed. Not a big job. Did have one problem with a bent lever on the right side. Looked like they dropped the frame or hit it somehow. They worked but it rubbed on the steps. Applied a little "McGiver" to it reassembled and all is well. I wish the steps were a little wider but I'll get used to them..Very sturdy and well made.

I'm sure you will enjoy them. Can you post installed photos?
I have it parked several miles away in a storage lot. Hard to get a good picture, but they look like all the others I guess. heading out today to get some carpets for them to make it easier for the dog to go up and down without slipping on the aluminum.

Put ours in last year and love them. We added the Camping world step carpets because the dogs didn't like the ribs on the steps. So far the step carpets worked great on a 10 day trip earlier this month.

A point, Glow Step does make a hand rail that replaces the stock rail. Only downside is if you have a slide out on the door side that is too close to the steps the support/steadying pole can't be installed.

THe steps are great. However my dog does not like them. Carpet solved the going down problem, However he does not like going up the steps either. Part of it dog is getting old and has trouble with steps. Part of it dog is afraid of open risers.
My point is dog was fine with OEM steps but is not comfortable with GSR steps.
I have purchased riser kit but have not installed it yet.

Even with 50$ off the steps are very expensive.

*Not* a very astute observation!..:(

If you are young and "spry" you can probably leap in *without* steps!..:C..:C

The stock (original) three work for me......however -

If you are *not* spry due to age or physical condition (semi-handicapped) - anything that helps you get up them steps is xlnt.
(like *quality* 4-step instead of three)

Many of "us" - or our significant others - may have to switch to a MH or TT due to lower entry height/s and no steps to Bed and bath area.

As already noted - a fall is way, WAY more expensive than a new set of entry steps (double duh!) - and can/will ruin your day, month, or RVing future...:S..:S

Well, yes and no. They are expensive, and if you need them then they are an expense you're willing to put out. That does not make them "not expensive", just possibly necessary and you're willing to pay for them. Just because something worse, a fall, costs a lot does not mean these don't also cost a lot compared to other steps, just not a lot compared to a fall.

VERY convoluted reasoning.
Maybe ying, maybe yang.

Even if you don't need 'em - what is expensive, what is not?..:@

There's a lot of folks who don't "need" a mega bucks MH either - but
they have one.

Eyes (and wallet) of the beholder!

To me (and I'm not the one who needs 'em, DW does) - the convenience is a bargain - and *not* what I would consider expensive.

If wind chimes ring *YOUR* chimes - cool!..:C
No need to spend your bucks on an *expensive* entertainment system!
