Atwood Landing Jacks

Last week I went to storage yard to bring fiver home for maintenance. The landing gear motor would run but the jacks would not move. It was high enough to get truck hooked up and raise lower legs. Got it home and discovered one leg screw bolt frozen. Soaked it with blaster and it never would budge. Called Etrailer and discovered Atwood sold jack line to Lippert and they do not make replacement parts. Ended up purchasing a complete set of new landing jacks at a cost of 750.00. FYI for Atwood landing gear owners

My Atwood jacks don’t have grease zerks and I was worried about the screws going dry so I drilled a small hole at the top of each tube and then I sprayed the screws with gear lube. I sprayed a little bit each day until it eventually came out the bottom and so I know they got well lubricated. Craig

Just curious, if gear motor was running, it seems a pin would have sheared, if the leg was frozen? My legs have zerks to grease. Just a couple pumps of lever in each, every couple years, makes a noticeable difference.

At least you found a good fix! 🙂
