Okay, so I know that RV's should run without a battery when they're plugged in. It seems like every time we either move the 5th wheel or if it storms and the power surges (or goes out and runs off the battery), or if it flickers off because of a storm then back on, the battery always goes dead. Every single time; even though we're plugged in to a 50 amp outside. Today we swapped batteries, turned the air on, a few hours later the new battery was dead. So we went and bought a batter charger. Put the charger on the battery, waited an hour (didn't remove battery from charge), still no 12v lights, ac/heat thermostat not working, and fridge not working. We have a 2008 Forest River Sandpiper, model 345RET. We have flipped the breakers, checked the fuses, and nothing seems to be working. Does anyone have any idea on what could possibly be causing this?

Thanks in advance 🙂

must be nice.also flip that gen breaker off see if the co_nv starts working

Should we unplug the battery before we do that? I know Jeremy said the 12v system wasn't working when the battery was disconnected.

ok your trailer is wired for one it sounds like the auto tranformer switch is fried you need to locate it.
in the front of the trailer is a spot for the genny it could be there or in the battery compartment its a black box with white letters on it

He said he didn't recall seeing one, but will go out in a few minutes and look to see if he sees one. Are those easily replaceable?

None of the paperwork says it came with generator hookups. It says, "IF" it has one that switches will be located near the sink, outside on the generator, or on the dash (RV). It's just a general booklet, doesn't specify this particular travel trailer. But we do not have switches near the sink for one. And there aren't any exhaust hoses outside for it.
