Car Trailer Towing

Well I am looking to buy and dodge daytona turbo car and drag race it this coming summer. But I have yet to find one!! I got a car trailer and weight distribution setup for my 04 ram 2500. However, My trailer without car on it is sitting high at the tongue and lower in the back end. Once I put the car on it I suspect it will go down but here is my question. Should the trailer be level without the car on it? Also, is it an issue or cause any problems for the trailer to ride higher at the tongue and lower in the back when towing? Thanks.

the trailer wil tow better with the front a bit lower than the back. plus the tires will wear more even. having to much tilt either forward or back most of the load will be on one set of tires, while the others will scrub excessively.. this is true even with a center pivot car trailer axle.

I have pulled a car trailer with my MH with several different weights. I like
to have the trailer as level as possible when loaded, if not you put more weight on one axle then the other including tires. Possibly creating a chance for a blow-out.

You want to maintain your tongue weight around 15% when your loaded. Not knowing where the car will be tied down and the weight impact it's very hard to give you much advice. You're better off waiting to level things once you have it loaded up the way you will be towing. Then determine how to adjust. A drop hitch maybe needed. But you might also need/want air bags to keep your truck level too. If not your headlights might be aiming for Mars.

The trailer should sit slightly tongue down when loaded. You may have stability issues with the tongue high.
