Christmas on the Gulf Coast?

Wife and I plan on spending a week during Christmas on the Gulf Coast this dec. Plans are to drive down Monday 5.5 hours there. And come back home the following Sunday or Monday.
See what we can see and do as little as we can. Looking for a place to stay with our 40ft Heartland Landmark Key Largo and Kodak c5500 truck. Don't need resort just a nice campground that is near the fun. But for me noise free as can be. Plus Quite and peace is what were looking for.
Plus ideals of what do do and stuff would help out also. Told the kids today that we will be having our Christmas dinner the saturday before. And leaving for a week.;):B

We used to stay at Port St. Joe State Park (the name is something like that) in Port St. Joe, Florida.

We had a 39' 5th wheel and always found a good spot, although some were preferable to others. We REALLY enjoyed spending what was usually 10 days in the area. Very nice white sand beaches, not cold, and close enough to PSJ or Panama City or Apalachicola if one wanted to do town stuff.

Could you narrow down what area on the Gulf Coast and what do you mean by "near the fun"?? near the beach, casinos, ??
We like Live Oak Landing in Freeport FL for a commercial park. About 11 miles to the beach.
Grayton Beach State Park has full hookup sites. Drive or bike to the beach.

We winter at the Gulf State Park, We love it there. Best campground anywhere as far are we are concerned. You should be able to get in at Christmas time but after the first of the year it is generally filled. Make reservations NOW.

We stayed at Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores, AL - and LOVED it. The sites are enormous and it's very quiet! Another little park that we've enjoyed on the Gulf is called Ho Hum RV Park in Carrabelle, FL. It's not big or fancy - but you can park right on the shoreline. The spaces are tight, however...
