Cold weather furnace question

Heading south Jan. 14. Going to be cold!!! When the slides are in 5 vents are clear but the 6th vent is partially covered with a slide. Are we able to run the furnace supplemented with fireplace and electric heater at night with slides in?

One register partially blocked should NOT cause issue.

If air flow to/from furnace (registers/return air) are blocked sufficiently furnace could overheat.....if it does high temp limit switch will shut if down (safety feature)

SO give it a try prior to trip. Best to find out now so alt. plans can be made.

Might want to throw rug over that register so the material on slide bottom does not have warm air blowing on it.

We have a magnetic sheet (craft store.....cut to fit) on register in kitchen floor and a throw rug over that cause register is in a stupid spot. Been that way for 7 yrs. no issues.

And we do run furnace when we travel in cold weather

X2, to both suggestions!

We have started to run the furnace on the way to a winter camping trip, T-stat set at about 55, sure beats getting into a stone cold unit!!!

I don't see a problem. Only one vent is partially blocked. You'll still get some heat from it.
Don't worry about it, enjoy your trip.

Shouldn't be a problem and there's a lot less room to heat with the slides in.

Is it time for your medication or mine?
