Since there does not currently seem to be a Jayco owners forum, Moderator Frank has graciously allowed this thread. It will be for discussing Jayco related questions and comments. Anything not Jayco related will be deleted. Sounds more than fair to me. Thank-you Frank!

This question is about jacking up our camper. We have a 2008 RLSA but my question can apply to any camper. Looking behind the tires at the frame, I decided it's time to clean and repaint the frame like Jayco suggest. You could do a much better job with the slide out and the tires off. So the question is has anyone had there slide outs out and there trailer jacked up at the same time? My first guess is it's a bad idea so I'm just asking.

eaherrmann,

Another question. Picked up the shade today at Camping World and installed. Made a huge difference in temps. But, when rolling up awning noticed arm by door had slack in it. Rolled awning out a few times, even adjusted shade to make sure even, but still had slack in awning fabric as rolling in. When awning came up to side of camper, could tell awning not rolled up straight. Did you have any problems when rolling yours up?

Blue, for tv just slide the panel back as if you were accessing your central vac. Look for the grey coax cable there. If you have the ext entertainment center you will see where they installed a splitter for it. Just use that splitter for a tv hook up but remember if you want to feed a seperate satt receiver there you cannot use a splitter. FYI, that coax continues on to feed your bedroom tv so if you disconnect it to watch tv outside you cannot watch in the bedroom.

The plan is to disconnect the cable at the splitter where it goes to the bedroom and then screw-in the cable from the basement TV when we want to do that...when finished we'll switch the cables back

Hey did I read the wife is going in for surgery? Hope it is not anything too serious...

Hey Eric ... if I was in the area I would definately help. Really wasn't difficult at all. Hardest part (other then getting it up ON the roof) was getting that caulking off that they use around the vent.
You gonna try it ??

DW is having lower back surgery. (fusion). Not looking forward to it at all, but hope it helps.

Um...me and tools and being mechanically inclined just dont
seem to go together...now with someone elses help that may be different...

Back surgery is not good since the recovery is a slowprocess from what I hear...did the wife buy the bell yet so she can ring it every time she needs you? :W

eaherrmann,

Questions about your sun shade. What size is it, length and heighth? Is there a model number? How hard to install? This is exactly what we are needing now, as the vening sun hits the awning side and as it sets the awning does no good. Thanks.

You can find the awning shades here...Patty-O-Shade

That is the one I have been looking at. Didn't know since it said it worked with A&E if it would with the Colorado. Thanks.

Ok everyone I have a question...

Plan is to add a small TV into the side compartment and swing out on an arm when needed and we are outside...already added a power strip to the roof of the inside compartment (thanks Loyd for the suggestion)...until I can buy the swing out arm how do I get a TV line going down into the compartment so I can hook it to the TV so when we have either cable or just regular TV I will be able to access it down there also?

Dura,

I believe I saw those on the Camping World website and looked like it just slid into the track of your awning where the awning hooks would go...

Quick question...while I know most if not all of us have the 15K AC unit in the living area - for those of you who have the second AC in the bedroom what size is that? (13.5K?)

13.5K low profile Carrier w/heat strip - works GREAT !!

Installed myself. Hardest thing was getting the darn thing up on the roof !!

Went with Low Profile to keep the overall height down. Only added about 2" to the overall height of the rig.

....We just purchased a Yamaha Majesty 400cc scooter. Weight 467 lbs. It IS going with us, either on the front end of TV ('08 Silverado 3500 dually diesel) or on back end of the Jayco (35RLTS) I know neither is a good idea, but like I said, the scoot IS going! Thoughts on which is the lesser evil?

Been considering the same thing. My thoughts were the swivel trailer on the rear, but concerned with all the bounce back there !!

Either way you go, keep us informed on how it goes ...
