Since there does not currently seem to be a Jayco owners forum, Moderator Frank has graciously allowed this thread. It will be for discussing Jayco related questions and comments. Anything not Jayco related will be deleted. Sounds more than fair to me. Thank-you Frank!

We have it too... you can bump it and it go away a little. I think part of it is that it's solid, but not so solid, mounted. I was going to pull it down and attempt to tighten it's attachment and put a gasket between the fan and box.

Does anyone else have an annoying hum with their ceiling fan? Mine is and has been so bad since we got the 5er, that I just never turn it on. I am thinking of just going to Lowes and buying a new one.

we have the Firestone fireplace ledge option with no window in the back. Really like it. Yes, it has no easy access to a coat closet and that forces me to take the coat all the way to closet in bedroom:(

just returned from our first extended trip since retirement. We will catch up on things around the house and then head out again in about 6 weeks.
We love this rig! Just a few items to get fixed. Love the ability to keep temp constant be it hot or cold, glad we got the thermopane windows. The amount of room over our prior unit you can't measure

We also had problems with gray water lights and one gray water dump valve one is sticking and not closing all the way. i love the black water flush nice feature

We had a slight dripping from the TV crank up antenna also the turn plate would not rotate the TV antenna so am going to have to get that fixed.
One screw one the kitchen slide out was slightly protruding, I ran in back in and covered the head with duck tape as had limited tools and will get the dealer to look at it and check the rubber seal

I figured how to get the Hi Def signal up to the bedroom I had to replace the splitter with one that could carry a higher signal

We hit a bump in the road and the Stromberg 5Th wheel tailgate flew open then one of the safety cables gave way so we where dragging the tailgate between the pickup and the fiver. No damage thank goodness.

We got between 12.4 and 12.9 much better than was expected.

today was the first time in a car feels like I am setting on the ground LOL

good luck

petekerwien - just don't fill it much past 1/3 so it will slosh around really well.

On the two units... I would just say this. the less windoes the better... and the pop up tv is just one more thing to go wrong in the future. If it gets stuck up...I would think you might need to dismount it for travel. Good luck with your purchase!

I'm just the opposite. I want all the windows I can get. Don't want to live in a closet.

I am looking at 2 35RLTS units, 2010 models. Anything major to report or any recalls. I really like the layout of the unit. Only minor issue is nowhere to hang a coat when coming in the door nor a place to put shoes aside.
One unit has the rear window with pop up TV and the other has the fireplace wall with no opening windows. Any complaints with either of these set ups.
Anything I would have to look at requesting a change or look at by dealer as part of the purchase.
Thanks

Well today I filled everything and let the grays drain for long time. I gained one red dot. SO sounds like I need to put chems. in there. I am sure tomorrow's ride on the Alaskan Hwy will help shake them up. I might even aim for one of those bumps!

You probably have stuff built up in the grey water tank.

I would probably fill and drain the tank once, then add one of the enviromentally friendly chems out there and fill you tank and let it sit for up to a week to allow the chem to help loosen whats there. Drain it of that, then fill and drain one more time to rinse. Water is the best solution.

What I do is after I drain and when we get home I like to add almost a 1/3 tank of just water to keep what might be there moist. On the black tank I do use the campchem treatment. I do that all camping season. I don't do it in the winter, I just make sure the tanks are flushed well after each use.

My gray water tanks (one of them especially) show 1/2 to 3/4's full. I drain them until nothing is left (I allow a lot of time because of the difference of pipe diameter of these tanks.) and the indicators shows 1/2. Black tanks, battery, fresh all read correctly. My next step is to fill the grays intentionally until they are full, then drain them to see if there is something in the tanks to dislodge...or it's the indicator? Any suggestions?

Convection oven. Microwave and Convection.

Some units that have these do not have ovens and have drawers instead.

Someone please tell me what a "half-time oven" is? Thanks.

Dana,I vented my Convection oven to the outside after seeing your pictures last year. And I only took off the second belly skin to expose the black tank. Thank again for these pictures.

If I remember correctly behind the flapper on mine is styrofoam stuffed in there but I'll double check next time I go to storage...I hate not having this thing parked next to our house!
