Fifth wheel hitch no bed rails

We have a 2012 F250 6.2L 8' tray no factory instal we wish to leave bed without rails as we often carry al sorts of things in back, can We install the puck stile like factory, what brands and prices have got no knead for ball mount. Thanks

I like the B&W Turnover Ball with the Companion 5th wheel hitch, when out it leaves just the head of the under mount for the turnover ball or the shaft used with the companion hitch a 2 1/2" square hole in the center of the truck bed which is flush with the bed. Check them out and the others you maybe looking at.
I thank this would the way to go if the truck does not have the factory prep.

If people are happy with what they have that is great!

I just want people to at least compare hitches side by side. It's a rare bird that won't say the B&W is the best hitch they have ever towed with.

I have the reese elite system in my truck, installed it myself...pretty simple, no drilling of frame, just cringed when drilling 3 inch holes in my new truck bed, lol, other than that I think it's a super set up. I also have the gooseneck hitch that goes on in place of the fifth wheel hitch. Either one about 5 min in or out. I think the whole setup was under $1900.

B&W, for sure. Can get the Turnover Ball base and have a gooseneck hitch as well or, if I'm reading you correctly in that you can install a puck-style under-bed mount, B&W also makes the Companion in that configuration, as well. Great company to deal with from simple questions to technical support.

B and w turnover ball with the companion hitch would probably work for you.

Either the B&W or Reese elite will work just get prices on hitch and install. I got the B&W because it was less expensive. Nice and easy to remove and leaves the bed clean for hauling.

My Reese Elite is that style. It was not inexpensive. Going from memory, I think I was around $2k for the hitch and installation.
