For myself, I RV because I love to see the country and meeting people. I never try to judge a person before I met them but okay. My wife and I got a fifth wheel for the room it give us. Hey sorry for putting in my words. Okay have fun and be safe.

I have been a member of FMCA for several years I did not vote simply because I did not have a dog in that fight. My number is 461636. If any of you see that number on the back of myMH, come on over and knock on the door and say "Hi". I don't care if you're in a Brand new Newell or an old Coleman pop-up. I'll offer you a beverage and ask you to set a spell.
Looking at the tire discounts, you can get tires for cars, trucks, and motorhomes. Did not see any ST tires, but it seems like everyone on this forum is always saying that they want LT tires for their rig anyway.

Trailer versus motorhome aside, in my opinion FMCA spends most of its energy recruiting people to "join". If you like joining clubs, great.

For me the only benefit is Coach-Net, and now perhaps the Verizon deals. Otherwise I see little benefit for an antisocial git like me.

Actually a very small number voted to allow us in. I believe the number who voted was approx. 9K and I thing their current membership is approx. 70K +/- and of the 9K that voted approx. 6K voted "Yes". I would venture a guess that a majority of those that didn't vote never thought in a million years that it would pass since it's been brought up many times in the past and always shot down.
Of the benefits membership offers, we have just about everything in one form or another.

GHop..... the members themselves voted to allow the towables (well, those who actually voted.) So, if someone next to me has a problem because I now have a travel trailer instead of the Monaco I used to own, that is their problem, not mine. My member number is 291675..so I go back awhile with FMCA and glad to be able to be part of it again.

Not understanding, why would you join a group who does not want you around them or who would look down on your family and you?

Well, you do get one of those little medallions and also to send them money periodically . . .

Don't forget you can also pi$$ off all the snobs who swore they'd not renew their membership if they let the trailer trash join and ruin their mh only image! Now where the heck is my a Grey Poupon???

I just joined. Not worried about what some snotty person thinks. I joined for two years so I could get the Verizon Unlimited MIFI plan at 49.99 a month and the latest MIFI unit for 1 cent. You have to join FMCA for 2 years ($110.00) and sign up for the Verizon MIFI plan for 2yrs. This will save me $35.00 a month and $298.00 for the MIFI unit. This is only for Verizon MIFI. NO BRAINIER. I also look forward to being with all the fine people

My guess the reason for towables and really not a guess is the member ship for FMCA is fading and to keep their benefits new blood is needed.

bobsallyh..... I shall see how the trailer attendees are accepted next month.
I read a post on FB and it was very downgrading to the trailer group. My understanding is only 1/3 of the members voted, so guess the other 2/3 had no opinion or didn't care?

We are trailer trash but have quite a few motorhomer friends. This subject has been talked about for several years at happy hours and if came to be, which it has, "what would you do" Most of the folks that were FMCA members concurred that they would drop their membership. Of course some of these same folks are some that like "motorhome only parks". What I would watch is how will the trailer trash be accepted at the rallies, outside of the "Grand Poobahs" doing PR on the trailer attendees.

Traditionally the tire were motorhome and truck only, maybe it will expand to ST tires

When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen, they might be right. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention, they probably know something you don't.

Yes, I renewed my membership I had with a motorhome. Will attend the Perry, GA rally next month. Some really good member benefits. Check out the website.
