Ford Trucks

Hi everyone, We currently pull our Jayco Fifth Wheel with a 1993 Silverado Duly one ton 454 and are going to finally update a bit and are looking for a used truck. We came across a nice looking 2015 Ford 250 super duty, 6.7 diesel. It only has about 4,200 miles on it which makes us nervous. I mean, great that there is not many miles on it but wondering why someone would get rid of a fairly new truck. Does anyone here own this truck or know anyone who does? We have only owned Chevy's and GMC's. Thank you for any replies.

I am getting around 9.5 to 10 MPG towing with my dually, but I also have 4.10 gearing.

Thanks. I was kind of figuring half of what we are getting now. But I wasn't sure.

We have a 2017 F350 dually 6.7L turbo diesel and we're getting 17-18 mpg on the hwy, without the trailer. We just purchased a Jayco North Point but haven't pulled it yet. I was curious as to what the mpg might be going down to.
Anyone have any insight?

Thank you, Charlie D....You are SO right, it was not meant to be.

Don't be down on not getting it. Look at it as "not meant to be." I have found that often things turn out better.

Unfortunately, this is at a Chevrolet dealership, so can't ask the previous owner.

An Oasis report only shows whats been diagnosed or fixed. It wont show anything wrong currently. A quality inspection is needed.

Yeah, been that way for quite a while, unless you have a friend on the back channel.

But still need to review an Oasis. So work with the Chevy salesman, take the truck to the Ford dealer for an independent pre-purchase inspection. I'm sure the service writer will review the Oasis with you. Might not give you a copy, but at least go over it with you. The two dealers in town probably know each other pretty well. Chances are fair that they sold the truck originally. They might want $100 or so, but that would be well worth it to me.

If you go to the ford-trucks.com site, you can probably ask someone to run an Oasis report. If it is at a Ford dealer, ask them. It could be a flood truck though.

If they only used it on some weekends, that number of miles are very possible. It could have only been owned for year as a model year holdover. Carfax or similar will let you know how many people have owned it.
