getting trapped inside a park

I've searched the different forums and haven't found any stories about this, but this question doesn't just apply to fifth wheels, it could apply to any rig :

has anyone pulled into an unfamiliar park, only to find out their rig is too large to maneuver through and get out? if so how did you do it?

we recently visited a state park, and I just moved from Washington where there are several state parks near where we lived. we drove in without our rig, which was a GOOD thing because if I had been pulling my fiver there was NO way we would have gotten out. switchback roads, trees lining the very narrow drive. deception pass state park comes to mind, on the island side. I think there is a sign or some literature that limits trailers to 20 ft, but if you didn't know that and pulled in...you're screwed, you're not getting out.

If you drove in, you can always back out. Not the best solution, but sometimes the only one. Walking or driving the area before heading in is always the best option. Most parks know if you are going to have trouble. Rarely you would ever get jammed. I have never had to unhook the tow car yet. (knock on wood)

Lots of people in hotels have the time to pen a song with that phrase, gbopp. I've found them very welcoming too.

Wasn’t a park but GPS took us under the freeway thinking we could enter there but we couldn’t. Down a long gravel road until I found a narrow ranch driveway. Had to backup the TT into the yard and had only 1/2” on each side of the metal poles to maneuver.

happened to us in Batesville Ar., in a private park with our 29' class C with dolly & toad, anyone that's ever tried to back up that setup knows what a joke that is, but after, numerous pull ahead, back up, pull ahead, back up, about 20 minutes worth, we made it out without messing anything up.

Happened to us as well. Moonshine Creek near Sylva NC. Went in to the CG. Told us they were putting us into the "more secluded" loop. so we followed them to out site, backed in, and all was great.

Until it came time to leave. It wasn't a loop. There was no way out. so I had to back down the Cg road about 200 feet to the bath house area, and turn it around there. if the Tt had been 3 feet longer. It wouldn't have turned around. So, it was my only two trips to Moonshine Creek. First, and Last. That's two ain't it.

Yeah it was my fault. But I didn't know the road didn't go around the curve when I backed in.

It’s happened to us with a fiver and with our motorhome towing a dingy. We have had to back the fifth wheel quite a distance and had to unhook the toad to get out.

Well, it almost happened to us once.
The teen-aged girl at the entrance to Roosevelt State Park in Mississippi told us to take the first right to get to our campsite. She should have said the first right past the lake - the first right led down a narrow peninsula with cabins on each side.
There was (barely) enough room to turn around, but only after park rangers showed up and made some cabin dwellers move their trucks and boat trailers.
