Grey Tank Flushing?

On a recent camping trip, I noticed grey/black blobs that came out of the galley tank. I have a connection for a black tank flush, but not for the galley tank. Short of installing an aftermarket tank flush, is there a way to clean and/or flush the nastiness out of the galley tank? Other than the tank sensors (which never seem to be accurate anyway) how do you know when the tank is full without ending up with a burst tank/terrible leak? I want to dump buckets of water into it, but I'm afraid of breaking something if I over fill it.

Can you run a hose up the dump drain? If so, you can buy a hose end attachment at CW used to flush black tanks from the toilet side. Just attach it to a hose and feed it into the grey tank. turn on the water and slide it around for a while.

Also, try filling the grey tank half full with hot water, Dawn and drive around a while. And if you leave the grey/galley tank open when hooked to full hookups, stop doing that.

Grey water will backup into the sink or shower when over filled. Won't burst.

It wont burst if you over fill. As I understand your post, you have a separate galley grey tank. In that case the overflow will either come back up the drain or it will leak out the breather under your sink if you have one.

If you over flow the other grey tank then it will come up in your shower (I know, yuck!).
