Hitch on rear of 5th wheel

I was thinking of adding a hitch to the rear of my 5th wheel mainly for bike rack. Do they make hitches for these or are the ones I've seen with them been modified and make up to fit the frame of the 5th wheel?

We had a hitch receiver put on our 2002 mountaineer FW by our dealer and used it sometimes for our bike rack, others for our Yamaha generator or other times for pulling our 14' fishing boat. Never had any problems towing with it.

Just purchased a 2014 Crossroads Cruiser 31rl and had the dealer put a new high receiver on it.

Just check with the mfgr to see if it will void your warranty.

The Crossroad rep just wanted to make sure that the receiver was put on by the dealer correctly.

We checked w/ our manufacturer, they told me to buy the Hidden Hitch, which is what they use for their option. Looks great, works great and have hauled our bikes back there for years...

I'm not going to do a bumper mount one as I want to be able to pull my golf cart behind if I ever want to.
I just called my welder and he fans them up and puts them on for a local rv dealer all the time. Guess I have that all figured out! Thanks for all the replies!

I would and am going to make sure the bumper is welded solidly to the frame. Then just bolt on a receiver for a bike rack. My 5'er came with the spare mounted on the bumper. I've since moved it to the front basement storage area. My two bikes don't weigh much more if any than a spare tire. Main thing is the connection where the bumper meets the frame. Check out the welds and if needed add some angle iron or whatever for more bracing.

I am also looking at having a hitch installed for towing our 14' boat or bike rack.

I use this bike carrier from Camping World with no problems. The receiver simply bolts on to the bumper.

in California it would cost $250 just to come to your house the install and parts from there.

Hidden Hitch was the supplier for the Factory/Dealer option of the bolt-on bike hitch for our Carriage Carri-Lite.

I looked at some universal bolt-ons, but they were not that great. I had a hitch shop build me one and it is hell for stout. Cost about $400 and worth it.

We had a professional welder put a hitch on our Jayco HT, which Jayco says will void the warranty. We pull our 3,000+ boat and trailer back and forth to the lake to fish and stay and, to date, haven't had a problem. As noted above, have a professional do the work. Ours reinforced the frame about 4-6' from the rear towards the axle before attaching the hitch which he fabricated. I would not suggest a bolt-on hitch, rather an fabricated one, I believe you will be happier. I have some pictures if you would like to see what mine looks like, send me a private message with your email address and I'll send them to you.

I made a hitch for my 5er, I got some large C channel that I bolted to the existing channel at the rear with 5 grade 8 bolts. I ran that through the fiberglass of the trailer and use a truck hitch that I extended. I cut square holes in the channel and ran the extended hitch through the C channel and welded it up. I have a basket on it that I carry a 3000 watt Yamaha and for one trip adde a bike rack to hold 3 bikes.Traveled many miles and all is good.

If you have a square tube bumper and it is decently substantial(not thin tin); then maybe:

Weld or have welded one of these on:

Or bolt this on:

Or maybe this would work?

Harbor Freight and Tractor Supply also sell that type stuff.
