I have a 2008 montanna 5th wheel. The front landing jacks always pops a fuse. I am always replacing it with a 30 amp, I noticed that the motor is very lose when it goes up or down. Any help on what it could be. Also my water heater works fine on propane but not at all on electric. Could it be the heating element and is it very easy to replace Thank you Marv Gerletti

I have a 2007 Laredo and had the landing gear issue in the beginning. Had the motor replaced while it was still under warranty and have not had any issues since.

I managed to have the power on to the water heater when the tank was empty...the few minutes the power was on was all that it took to burn out the heating element. Had a guy at the campground who did rv work replace the element for around $100. We also have the grease fittings filrupmark mentioned...before each trip a couple of pumps from the grease gun has kept the landing jacks moving smooth. Of note, since the grease zerks are on the forward part of the jack leg, a flex nozzle is required.

Have you greased it. Ours have 2 zerks on each side. Sure makes it run smooth and quiet.

Landing gear? Too weak to lift the trailers nose. Consider upgrading to dual motors.
Water heater? Hearing element or hi limit switches. What brand water heater do you have?
If it is a suburban, you need to check for voltage at the element. 120VAC present? Element. No 120VAC the limit switch pack. Element is available at any big box store. Limit switch pack, about 25 dollars at any good rv parts store.
