Like a Fox ... Artic Fox that is.

We have found the perfect 5th wheel for us. It is the 27 Artic Fox. It has two slides. One for the free standing table and chairs/sofa. The other slide for the bedroom closest. There is room for one recliner. The length is only 27'. Now the problem ... There is no dealer anywhere near us. If they can put all that into a 27', surely someone else can also. We have searched and searched, but have had no luck. Does anyone know of a 5th wheel with the items described above (must have a recliner/free standing table)that is 29 feet or less. If we can't find anything else, we may need to consider a long trip to purchase one, but would first like to see if we have missed any other options.

We bought a Jayco Eagle SuperLite HT 26.5 RLS with two swivel chairs in the rear and a large slide for the couch and dining area. It also has a wardrobe slide in the bedroom. If you are not over 6'4", you'll fit in the bedroom ok. The trailer is just short of 30', 29.7' according to the brochure. We have enjoyed it this last year. Bought it in Casper rather than driving to Indiana, but Casper/Evansville has a good Artic Fox dealer named Smith RV, good people. We didn't go for the Artic Fox for weight and prices issues but I think they are a great product. As far as the Greystone noted above, I really liked that model just after we bought our Jayco, but the dealer wouldn't make a deal with us even though the prices were just about the same, something about all the paperwork.

I appreciate all the good comments about the Artic Fox. We have read up a lot on them and read numerous reviews. At this point, I want to put the Artic Fox on the back burner and see if I can find another brand we would be happy with. I prefer buying one closer in case we would have to return for warranty work. Yes, we are looking at new. Our Sunnybrook, which was purchased new, wasn't in for repair for the first eight years. I hope we can say the same for the next purchase!

I assume you are talking about a 27-5L. Be aware that there are two versions, the current, which has a bedroom slide on the "street" side, and the old ones that have a slide on the curb side (and an older one that has no bedroom slide).
I've been through several (they had the new version when we bought ours, we would have bought a 27-5L).
Last time through Sumner RV they had four 2013 27-5l's on the lot.

When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen, they might be right. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention, they probably know something you don't.

You appear to be in the same boat I was in. You like the Artic Fox but no dealers nearby. They have one dealer in Texas and he does not stock any Fox units in inventory. Will only order for you. After desperately trying to make a deal with him, it just didn't work out. The next closest dealer was in New Mexico and only one there. Then it was either Wyoming or Arizona, so I finally got my best deal in Mesa Arizona.

We ordered an Artic Fox 29-5T which will hopefully be in Mesa around mid March, Really looking forward to getting it home. I researched this unit as much as I could and spoke with quite a few Fox owners. It seems to be really well built trailer and I suppose I will soon find out for myself.

Good luck!

From your request looks like you want new. While having a dealer close would be nice, Arctic Fox only has a 1 year warranty like most other brands. If you plan on travelling a lot local dealer is not much help. Speaking from having 2 Arctic Foxes (1 a 27ft) like what your looking at both only had 1 minor problem to fix during the PDI. As Northwood has great customer service, I'm sure they would work with you to get any problem fixed while on the road.

If used any good RV repair facility could fix any problem.

to get the RV of my dreams I would make a long trip, just plan to stay in the vicinity for a while to work out the initial bugs. will they allow another service to perform warranty service? that is the only thing that would worry me.
