Apples and Oranges. This discussion, so far, it about non-ST tires from a large manufacturer of tires that has had a large recall recently of another of their brands.

At least Michelin has the courage to recall suspect tires. Most of the Chinese tires we hear about are gone and a new name applied before any recall can be initiated.

The tires are a 18" 19" and 20" P tires which has nothing to do with the size tires we use on our trailers unless you have the Carriage Domani that has a option with 20" P tires and 5200 lb axles and special chrome mag wheel from American Racing (8 lug 20 X 10" rim).

None of the tires appear to be LT sizes.

They're not labeled "LT's"- they're described and marketed by Michelin as "Light truck replacement tires" (link)). Don't know if any can be fitted to a trailer, though...maybe the post should be in "general RVing" since some folks' tow vehicles/toads also may have these tires.

Actually, I think lacking the "LT" designation should be of interest to folks...that "P" on the sidewall should indicate that the tire has UTQG/temp ratings etc. just like any passenger car tire...and unlike LT's/ST's.

To the OP. Thanks for the heads up, appreciate the post.

But, Grrrrr, when there is a recall what the heck is a major manufacturer putting it on a face book page that you HAVE to join to see the whole page contents. There still ARE many of us that do not buy into the need to join kiddie facebook. If you do not join all you get to view is a 1000 idiotic, irrelevant comments on a tire recall.:R

For those of you who don't buy into facebook here is a direct link.

First time I have been upset not to be part of a recall. I hate my LTX M/S2 but they are the wrong size ๐Ÿ˜ž
