Mosquitos

As camping season has just started here in Michigan, I wondered if anyone had some really good mosquito prevention tips for the camp area around the 5 th wheel? Especially with the virus they carry this year!
We are parked near a lake, and I swear the mosquitos were out already on the first nice day.
Thanks

The Zika virus is spread by the Aedes Egyptii mosquito. You should be safe in Michigan. Here is a map of the Aedes Egyptii's range:

x2 on the Thermacell.
If you have electricity, bring along one or two large box fans. Set them out underneath your awning and turn them on. The wind will keep the mosquitos from hovering. This is very effective, as long as you are outside in the windstream.

permethrin! We are in south-TX and it lasts about 3-4 weeks depending on rain fall. Spray all foilage, grass under trailer, and tree trunks.

Therma Cell works really well. The mosquito is also Louisiana's state bird.

Being from Manitoba, we are the same. Around the camper area we use citrus candles and the OFF! PowerPad Lanterns. Definitely make a difference everywhere we've been.

BTW - don't panic too much, the mosquito carrying that new deadly virus can't survive our winters. I'm guessing your winter is the same so no need to pull out the bee suit yet.
