I am looking for a solution to light up our control panel. There are no lights in the hallway and I can't read the buttons at night for the slides, switches, etc. Ultimately I am looking for a battery powered puck light that will shine down the wall, not back at your face. Any ideas? Thanks.
My panel is near the door. Over the door is a row of hooks: keys, cork puller, and three of the small LED penlights you can buy for a dollar or so these days.

My wife purchased some small 3/4" x 1" grill lights. These are self contained lights with a magnet to attach. would be perfect using velcro if no metal is available to attach.
I think I would mount the puck high on the opposite wall of the hallway so it shines over my shoulder onto the switches. They really produce quite a bit of light.

A few years ago, I purchased some white LED battery-powered "puck" lights at Camping World (for my previous fiver) for a problem similar to yours. They worked well. As I recall, the price was around $20 for a package containing 3 of them.
