Wife and I ordered a new Solitude 379FL last week. Trading in our Catalina and can't wait for the first trip next year now. Really looking forward to 2018 though when I can retire and we will be going full time.

Congrats on the new Solitude. I've had mine for over 2 1/2 years. Just finished up a 2 month, 38 state, 10,113 mile road trip in ours. Only real problem was breaking off the toilet pedal, replaced the whole toilet and was good to go...

Congratulations; that is a beautiful unit. DW and I were very close to pulling the trigger on one at the local RV show last year but were concerned it would not fit in our yard with the size.

I also think that Grand Design is second to none in regards to customer service. They would be tops on my list if we were to buy new today.

Doesn't matter what manufacturer we would have bought from, would be doing an extreme PDI anyway. I have done a lot of research and reading and do know the specific issues to look for that are most frustrating to the owners of these trailers. For the most part the complaints have been about not being able to get service from dealers for the issues. They contact GD and are treated well and taken care of, whether at another dealer or from the factory.
I always expect that there will be issues of some type before and after the purchase. What would one expect when you are rolling a house down bumpy roads.

I can see that you needed a bigger trailer, your truck was too big for the Catalina.

You better do a very extreme pdi those trailers are keeping me busy with poor quality control
