From someone who visited the Show and sums up the attitudes here.
I have towed 5th Wheelers and love how much easier they are then a caravan but I don't like the big Yankee style ones. The Jayco ones were nice but when they are trying to push that you need a large Ivevo ute to tow even the small one you lose a lot of interest.
One of these years people will realise how good 5th wheelers are (not the over the top huge ones) and hopefully they will become popular. They do have a stigma to beat first thanks to all the imported huge ones damaging there name in this country

Another got rid of his 34ft 5th Wheeler and uses his late model F350 6.7 diesel to tow this
