Went to the Syracsue RV show today. had a good time. Saw some new ideas and concepts and while not for everyone, they looked neat.
Sierra: 378FB was a front bath w/ 1/2 bath off kitchen. Nothing real new w/ front bath, but liked the 1/2 bath right there.
Sprinter: 353 FWDEN, neat kitchen seating area w/ fake stone "leg" as it had bench seating along wall and 3 barstools on opposite side. Not really made for 3 med/lg folks on stool side. Fake rock for wall leading to LR. Seating for 8 here.
Jayco Northpoint: 377RLBK Neat mid den for either single person BR or use as office. Loft above it accessible from hallway. Our 16 yo sone liked the loft even though I told him it would be quite warm up there. Otherwise he said he'd stake claim to the den. Few other mfr had same concept w/ this design.
Saw some raised rear LR, front kitchen and a Jayco which I think had a raised rear LR had a HUGE rear storage compartment and HUGE though not real tall storage under the LR area.
Couple units caught our attention to which I have questions on.
Cedar Creek Silverback 33IK. No water filters anymore on any CC. Rep says too many problems (yet other FR div had them). No divider between docking station and basement yet the CC line does. Rep says it's due to different size. WTH kind of response is that? Curbside basement door swings open back to front. Asked if it can be made to open upwards instead. Reply was no due to having to relocate the hinges. Okay, so why can't that be done while being made I'm thinking. How hard is it for that to do or design differently---reason being: if you have the picnic table under the awning and folks sitting, all will have to move to open up the door. No more drop fame or "Z" frame in the Silverback line as price point.
Jayco Eagle: 317RLOK, awesome pantries and linen storage. Not to keen on the 1/2 theatre seating seats. Small micro. Smallish front compartment ( and real small compared to the CC 33IK's). Opt awning over outdoor kitchen was nice. HAD the divider between docking station and basement, but no filter. Decent size bath. Liked the room around the bed. Blue LED lights on headboard was cool. Small fan in bath. 17.5 gallon water heater---wholly cow!! 4 point leveling system. One thing that was odd and we saw on most Jayco's was the bathroom door opened front to back. Meaning you had to open the door while walking up the stairs OR if exiting the bedroom, had to step down a stair to open or stand at lip of top one. Would think if middle of night "P" run and groggy, that could spell trouble as one could stumble down stairs while attempting to open door. Asked sales rep if pocket door can be installed instead and "NO. Would have to do that ourselves. Perhaps a wooden "curtain" door would be easiest.
None came w/ LT tires (as much discussed on other threads). For those w/ either the CC Silverback 33IK or Jayco Eagle 317 RLOK, what to do like dislike? Changes you've made? Outside storage okay? Compared to the 6 point level up, how do folks w/ the 4pt like it? Good design or idea?
May have other questions, but this should be a start. Thanks folks.
