OK to tow TH with slides open?

Just finished the 4th of July parade in Hillsboro, Oregon. Lots of fun. Kids were on a farm trailer tossing candy. Idea struck me that I could brace the garage ramp of my 5th wheel TH as a platform and let several kids stand on it and toss candy. I see two issues and was wondering if anyone has tried this out before. 1) advice and experiences with bracing ramp. 2) driving with the slides extended. Top speed is a walking pace.

Anyone tried this before?

I wouldn't even consider pulling a trailer with the slides out. What are you trying to prove? Showing off maybe???

I agree, i have done this in a christmas parade, never would consider using my hauler, its not ment for that purpose.

What if any other function will the toyhauler/truck combo have?

I ask because I'm having a hard time wrappin' my head around the logic of putting fifty-sixty feet of truck/toyhauler in a parade just to provide an 8x8 "deck" at the very back-?

How high are the railings? Are the Moms trained in CPR?. Speed is fine. How about sudden and unexpected stops and starts?

Most ramps that are used as a platform have legs - so unless you have a way to setup a set of wheels supporting that ramp, not sure I would take a chance with the ramp supporting anyone or thing.

I can see that folks are concerned about kids falling off. To keep the postings on topic let's suppose that I have railings around the ramp, moms walking directly behind trailer and a top speed of 3mph. My questions relate to structural considerations of slides while in motion and methods of bracing the ramp.

I would not do it, not worth injury to someone. Put them on the floor in the bed of the truck if you need to do such a thing.

We have parents walk behind the trailer to keep the kids in line so the risk is the same and minimal.

I have on occasion moved my rig with the slides out.. very slowly and no bumps.
