I purchased a 2005 Cardinal 5th wheel. It still has the original tires. Even thou they look good I know they deteriorate. Should I replace them prior to hitting the road this summer

We replace at 4 years; no longer. Left one year without doing that. At 4 years plus 1 week from manufacture date on side wall........blow out.

Most of the 2005's had Kenda Klever LT235/85R16E's. If so put Bridgestone Duravis R250's on it and don't look back. What model is it? Chris

For peace of mind and safety, I would change them. Why let a blowout or two ruin a nice travel season? My Dad suffered many blowouts over the years on motorhomes, trailers and boat trailers. He seemed to think as long as the looked OK, no problem. When they would blow out, he would blame the engineers. I've NEVER had a blowout and will not run a tire longer than 10 years.

Yes, they need to be replaced. Many replace at three years. I would by five years, especially if traveling any distance, as in not just the local campground. Do a little research, there are many tire options.

Welcome to the forum! Enjoy that new to you FW!

At last a question that has a non-controversial answer. You're driving on borrowed time with 10 year old tires, not sure where that 16 years came from. Unless your longest trip is the 10 miles down to the lake, you should change them tomorrow.

depending on tire size and weight there will be a lot of very good LT tire options for you. Lots of people like the Michelin XPS Rid and also Bridgestone Duravis R250 - for lighter weight rigs the Firestone Transforce HT, BFgoodrich Commercial T/A2 and Toyo H/T are all highly recommended around here. (cooper, goodyear and yokohama also have options).

well yes, or have one blow, tear up the under side of your rv in the tune of thousands of dollars in repair. and a lost summer. now go buy the very best tire ,michlin and have it over . tires rot from the day they come out of the mold.
