Pullrite Superglide vs. a different Double pivot hitch?

Hi, All! I'm in the process of selling my travel tailer and moving to a fifth-wheel. wife and I really fell for the new Jayco North Point 377RLBH at last weekend's Hershey Show.

I will be the FIRST to admit that I know very little about 5'er hitch systems. I've had several folks, including the reps for the MOR/ryde pin system recommend the Pullrite Superglide, as it is "automatic", and doesn't require getting out to release. (I have a 6' bed in my RAM, and I don't want to bang into the cab when backing the trailer into tight spots.) I have the in-bed "puck" system on the RAM, so I will need to mount the hitch on a picture frame, either Reese or Pullrite.

So my question is, do I want the Pullrite Superglide auto slider which is only single pivot? Or am I better off with a double pivot hitch? (and if so, what would you recommend?)

Thank you for any help!

I waited to see if anybody would suggest a B&W hitch. I love my companion hitch and they make one for factory pucks. With rounded cap on my 2014 Keystone Alpine I have not needed a slider in over 10 k miles towing in all conditions. Keystone calls it an 88 degree cap. I don't have to worry about the 16 degree angle to hitch up. Just sayin......

Lots of people are ditching the sliders because most never need them anymore.

The B&W RVK3600 fits in the factory puck. Its a solid attachment to the frame, no picture frame adapter to add more unneeded movement. Most set the B&W in the rear position with a short bed and forward with a longed.

Compare the B&W to any other non air ride hitch on the market. Top quality US Made with simple solid latching system. No color codes!

I've been all through the Jayco literature and website, and I cannot find anything on the Jayco nose-cap clearance. Many mfgrs "brag" about how their nose-cap will clear, but Jayco is silent on it.

I can't speak to that particular hitch, but that is an amazing trailer for sure!! We really like that layout as well.

My Super Glide was a double pivot hitch just like all the Super Glide hitches. Whoever gave you the information that it is not was wrong. I used it in my shortbox Ram. Worry free.

Hmm, my Superglide pivots only front to back, not side to side. However, Pullrites website says that all Superglides are dual pivot. Mine is only 2 years old. What am I missing? Is there a heavy spring that keeps it level side to side and I'm just not noticing its ability to pivot?

I thought mine was a single pivot but if I try hard enough it pivots side to side, us loosening up after some use

OK. Went to the SG website, and read the manual. It IS a double pivot. The ad that I was looking at , as a possible source "RadAuto" showed it as a single. Maybe I should loom for a more knowledgable vendor! LOL!!!

Thank you for the assist, Folks! I'm sure that I'll have more 5'er rookie questions!

Single pivot 5th wheel hitches -to the best of my knowledge- are *only* commercial hitches (on the back of a semi) for towing cargo trailers.

Tow a recreational 5th wheel with one (ex: a Binkley) and you stand a chance of tweaking the trailer frame, as the trlr is not intended to handle the stress.

A PR Superglide *is* a double pivot.

Give PullRite Tech a call, ask 'em! - very friendly, helpful folks.

And, very happy with the one I have had for 10 years...:W

BTW - If there is something you believe is better, go for it.
Can't compare, as the SG is the only one I ever have had - w/no reason to change.

I believe SuperGlide is a double pivot, tilts fwd/back and side to side.

I have been using the SuperGlide for ten years. Trouble free. I can't speak to the merits of the "other" hitch, don't recall hearing anything negative about either hitch.
