Reese Rail Bracket Compatibility

I have a slightly used Reese slider that I want to mount on my 2011 F-250 Super Duty. It has a universal mount rail kit RP30035 with it. I'm going to go with a custom bracket to keep from drilling holes in my frame and have a neater installment.

I have found that the Reese 50026 brackets will work with my rails but I like the Reese 56016 brackets better. It has two more mounting bolts for one of the rails and even though I'm sure the 50026 is a safe design I just think the more bolts the better. I've always been an overkill guy and haven't ever regretted it.

Will the 56016 brackets work with the RP58058 rails? I'm thinking probably yes but I'd rather get information from people who have experienced it first hand. I emailed etrailers the same question but don't know when they'll reply.

Thanks, Danny

My truck wasn't ordered w/ the puck system (wish it was). Ordered the Reese Rail kit from E-trailer and Rails. Used it w/ a Reese 16K, but just upgraded to a B & W 1bK Companion. Just had to make 2 holes in rails slightly larger as the B & W was just a RCH too wide (front to back). Towed for 1st time this w/e with the B & W and 14K 5er, no prob. E-trailer was very good to work with.

Thanks for the reply Pat. The rails that come with the 56016 bracket kit is according to specs 5" longer than the rails that come with the 50026 brackets. I've saw video of both and it looks like the 56016 bracket rails just have more overhang on each end. I don't believe the extra 2 1/2" width on each end would make things any safer. I've been on a weekend trip and just got home so I'm going to watch some more video to see if I can determine if the bolts go in the same place for the different designs.

Hopefully etrailer.com will respond soon and let me know for sure. If I don't hear from them within a couple days I'll just go ahead and order the 50026 brackets. I know they should be plenty safe but I'd still like to have the 56016 brackets if they'll work because there's not much difference in the price.

I used the Reese custom brackets for my F450 to mount Curt rails in the bed of my truck. The rails are standardized, so they will fit all brackets designed for mounting rails.

EDIT: Just read all of your post, I don't have first hand knowledge of the 56016 brackets or the rails. I understand overkill, but as long as the hitch is rated for more than your loaded rig, you should be good to go. Just my $.02.
