Replacement Steps

We just upgraded from a tent trailer to a 2005 Ragen FS2600. This unit comes with a manual double step that leaves roughly a 14" step up from the ground. I'd like to change it over to a triple step, but the bracket width on the trailer is 25.5" and all the steps I've been able to find have 27.5" bracket widths.
I know I could place a step on the ground, but my youngest has cerebral palsy and I want bottom step to be as firm as possible and worry about a single step being too unstable for her.
If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

Don't mean to hijack this thread, so I'll confine my question to this one post.

Did the drop change that much? I was looking at the quad steps to replace my triple, but it looks like the overall change from 3 steps to 4 steps doesn't really affect the drop that much.

Thanks.

I just changed mine from a triple step to a quad step which also makes it longer so it is easier to open the door when you are standing on the steps.
I guess I should try and sell the triple?

Camping World (and others) have very stable steps and step stools you can put on the ground. I have seen some that are a little longer and wider than trailer steps. IMO, some trailer steps are less sturdy/steady than CW steps.

A while back someone had a similar issue. I think they had a local welder add a step to the original steps.
