rust on worm gears track on slide outs

I have 2009 fifth wheel an have noticed rust on gear drive and teeth of shaft under our slide outs. Is there way to protect or service to prolong life of these parts?

Wire brush and apply either a slide out lube or any automotive dry film lubricant (both are dry film).
You will find your slide moves faster right away.
