Trailair King Pin Box-Does this look right?

I just purchased a 2014 Cedar Creek 34 RLSA-7 fifth wheel that had the Trail Air Air Ride Hitch Coupler. The trailer was hitched to my truck which has a B & W Patriot 16,000# 5th. wheel hitch, approximately 80 # of air was added to the Trail Air to the suggested point, even with the top of the arrows on the shock of the Trail Air Air Ride. It suddenly appeared to me that the Trail Air seemed to be pushing the hitch head forward as far as it would go, several degrees, which was not parallel to the truck bed rails like the previous two 5th., wheel trailers I have had that had the standard extended Lippert pins. The lower jaw of the Trail Air just didn't seem to close much to make the hitch head plate and plate on the Trail Air parallel with the truck bed. The trailer is very close to level not nose high or low and have about 8 inches from top of truck bed rail to bottom of trailer.

When backing into the Trail Air Pin the front of the Trail Air hits the hitch plate at a fairly good angle and not parallel like my previous trailers.

The trailer seems to be pulling properly. But I have concern that something is not right with the angle of the Trail Air on my hitch head which seems to be putting a lot of pressure on the front of the hitch, it is pushing it forward as far as it will go.

Can anyone tell me if this looks correct?

Thanks Bionic Man, I don't know how I missed your thread. I thought I searched before I posted mine. Thanks again, a lot of good info.

I didn't mean to come across as one of those guys that berate you for not using the search function. I just wanted to show you the thread as there is some good insight there. Starting a new thread gets some new blood involved, which can be a good thing.

As to my kingpin, I am still adjusting the air pressure. I think it becomes a little trial and error when you are first using it.

On mine, the top of the pin box is much closer to the bottom of the cap. I've never really paid attention, but i don't believe mine sits in the hitch that far forward. Think I would contact trail air and ask them. You may need to adjust the mounting, or it may be fine for your set up.

Mine sits perfectly level to my hitch plate when hooked up and I fill the air bag to the line. I love this pinbox set up,it with the Trail Air air-ride suspention on my axles my Daydreamer floats down the road with no chucking and I also belive that system adds longevity to my rig by keeping the bump of the road from shaking it apart, great set-up!

Let out some air. Don't go by the pressure in the bag, just air it up until the hitch is level. The arrow decal can be off in its' placement by as much as one inch. I air mine up just enough so it doesn't bottom out going down the road. I have checked it once or twice and it's usually around 50 psi. Mine rides pretty good.

I have the Companion with the TrailAir and really havent payed attention to that. I do know the TrailAir rides worse than any standard pin box I have had. That may be my problem.

Looks like you have too much air in the bag? When loaded and all the weight is on the hitch the top of the arrow should be just visible per the instructions. When your going down the road your hitch should be level.

I have basically the same setup, companion hitch and trail air hitch and it looks the same on my truck when connected. I see no problem being the Companion hitch articulates to accommodate this angle while towing, if you watch the hitch movement in your mirror, you will see that it moves to different angles while flexing as the shock travels. I have to load mine with 96 lbs of air pressure to get the arrow to line up while towing
