What is the load rating on these tires in the e range. A 2017 keystone carbon 357 tandem axle with a gross weight of 17000lbs comes stick with these tires. It seems they would not be the right tires maybe I am wrong.

The tires will say on the sidewall what they are rated for. Different brands will have different ratings.

Most likely 3420# at 80 psi

Tandem axles......4 at 3420 ------13,680# load capacity

Dry pin is 3,060# with dry weight of 12,712# ----24% pin weight

17000# GVWR at 24% is 4080# wet pin weight
17,000 - 4080 leaves 12,920#
Only 760# capacity margin ---190# per tire

Upgrade to a 235/80r 16 'G' rated tire like Sailun S637.......4080# capacity at 110 psi
Will require upgraded rims to handle psi/load but better then marginal tires :S

Are your tires ST or LT? The numbers I quoted were for LT tires. Sorry about that.

The Goodyear marathon e load is rated at 3420 pounds max different tires sometimes have different max load ratings, You would be better served to actually weigh your unit loaded as a start point. But in my opinion a g rating would be in your best interest

What size are your axles? I they are 5K axles you are OK to some degree. I think the load for a E rated tire is 3085 lbs.

I have a 17k GVW trailer and I have G rated tires on 7K axles.

That sounds like too much trailer for E rated tires.
