Hi all,
I'm considering installing a satellite tv system in my rv and and wanted to get a feel for what would be system to go with.I know opinions will vary but still.Dish or Direct tv.
The Winegard TRAV'LER DISH 1000 Multi-Satellite TV Antenna or the
TRAVLER DIRECTV SWM Slimline Automatic Multi-Satellite TV Antenna.
And Are both of these about the same to install ?

Thanks Rich

I have used both a tripod mounted dish and a Tailgater and never much worried about one walking off. You can lock it with a cable if you feel the need.

Keep in mind if you often stay in parks with lots of trees you may have a problem using a permanently mounted antenna.

Dish does. And I think Direct does also now. We have Direct at home and just take our equipment with us on the road. BTW we have never had a problem with a ground mounted dish growing legs.

I was thinking about the tripods also, but was afraid about anything mounted on the ground walking away when were not around.
Do either or both have the service where you can start and stop it when camping / not camping ?

It really depends on what YOU want. Direct offers better sports packages.
From there, buy an inexpensive dish/tripod package. Roof mounted dishes, no matter what service will be limited or non existant if blocked by trees.

If you want to save about $1300 you can get a Slimline on a tripod and learn to aim it.
