I thought constitutional carry meant no permit required and I think 25 or so states have that. and many states recognize most other states permits. Some recognize no one, MD comes to mind

Thank you all! Yes we know we can carry in SD but we fulltime rv travel and want to carry it in other states as well. To make sure we will call Pennington County Sheriff to make sure. We know since we just have a mailing address in SD that they consider people with PMB addresses temporary residence and we cannot buy a handgun in the state but are hoping we can get a concealed permit. Thanks again! Tara

Yes, we do have constitutional carry, but this is directly from the states website:
"Has physically resided in and is a resident of the county where the application is being made for at least thirty days immediately preceding the date of the application;".

It seems pretty self explanatory to me.

Seems that South Dakota doesn't require a permit to carry anymore (since Jan 31, 2019) Their SB 47 eliminated the requirement for residents as long as they can legally possess a firearm.

The law was changed, not so long ago, so that a SD resident no longer needs a permit for concealed carry.

You're better off to stay in the county of residence. Other than that it is up to the sheriff of the county you apply in, and surprisingly, they do deny applications.
Also, as of July 1st, there is no fee for the permits anymore.
