Has anyone tried Rid-X in their black tank?

It takes longer than that. Rid X does not dissolve non-soluables. When those start filling up your drain field get out your wallet. Don't believe me.

Curious what makes you such an expert on this topic? Would be interested to hear your credentials.

After one week with water only the toilet would burp every time it was flushed. After a week with Rid-X all problems were resolved. Been that way for two seasons now.

I for one have used it in my tank. I had the dreaded tower of poo. Filled the tank 1/2 full of water, drove over 100 miles through the mountains, let it sit a week, went to dump and still had problems.

Did the same with Rid-X the next week and my problem was gone. Some may say it doesn't work, but my experience is different.

I believe that my septic tank has been pumped out 2 or possibly three times the last 38 years. never have added RidX or any other magic cure.

When I had a septic system my septic guys (friends of the family), told me to add Rid-x now and then since it helps liquify stuff better....seemed to work for me since I only had the tank cleaned out twice in 25 years..... and the only difference in a septic tank or a black tank is one is cement and one is plastic, one empties over time and one empties when you pull the handle. I do use a little Rid-x when I know my rig is gonna sit for a month or two, also make sure there is water in the tank during that time...

I read those same studies when I moved to the country and had a septic system installed. Did just what it said, and used nothing. Tank needed to be pumped every 2_3 years. At that time i started adding rid x, or similar product, monthly, or at least every couple of months. At this point, hasn't needed to be pumped in the last 12-14 years. I'll keep using it, thanks.
