19 foot class C

About 3 - 5 years ago, we looked at a 19 foot class C with a slide. I think it was a Dodge. Since then, I have not been able to remember what brand it was and think it would be a perfect size, especially since it has the slide. Can anyone help with me with this information? We are downsizing from our 31 foot and want something we can travel in without towing a car. Any suggestions?

We would love to have a used, small RV. Not too many years old, but we would rather have someone else take the initial depreciation.

I like the smaller Class Cs as well, and am researching based on smaller length. Here's another shorty.

OP is silent on whether USED is acceptable.

if so, there are a plethora of early 2000's rigs like chinook, born free, trail lite, phoenix, starflyte, and more, that are near a real 21' length.

in the history of technology, we put men on the moon and roofs on houses that do not leak.

i wonder where all the leak-free windowed and non-fiberglass-bucket overcab RV owners are when told by a b+ owner that they have such inferior designed motorhomes.

Other than the Four Winds Majestic and the Phoenix Cruiser, I don't know of any that are below 24 feet. Even the Forest River LE model that has a side slide is about 24 feet or so.

What would be ideal is something with the exact floor plan of the 19 foot Majestic, but instead of the U-shaped dinette, a three-piece sofa that flips out like the Phoenix Cruiser's bed which is workable and decent to sleep on with or without a slide.

Hiya Ron,

2015 is the first year that they offered a little 23 footer for 2 people (and fur babies). And you're correct... No Exposed Seams in the Cap!! The joining seams are on the bottom of the cab-over, and no windows to leak! They got it right!

I really REALLY LOVE the seamless cab-over fiberglass bucket on all their B+ and C models. Jayco has gotten with the program. That sole practice alone jumps them forward past a lot of competitors. I'll have to remember that when others ask what brands to consider for big class-C affordability. I could overlook a lot other shortcomings (no implication with Jayco) as long as that dang bucket is seamless. That is my NUMBER ONE priority for people looking to buy a class-C motor home. All else is lower in my pecking order.

was that a NEW 19' motorhome? if so, the four winds majestic 19g or thor chateau 19g are the only possibilities i can think of. NO slides that i can find on these, and as others are saying, no dodge.

Hi,

We spent 2 years researching all of the small Class B's and Class C's that we could find, at dealers, RV shows, campgrounds, factory tours, etc.

We narrowed it down to Phoenix Cruiser and Jayco as the best bang for the buck in that size..

We loved the way the Phoenix was constructed, the attention to detail, and the ability to customize it. However, it didn't have ducted air conditioning, it had VERY LITTLE outside storage, and the biggest downside was that it only had a one year warranty, and no dealer network.

Even though we couldn't customize the build, we finally went with the Jayco because it has tons of storage, a great dealer network, the folks we met on the factory tour were very impressive, and most of all, it has a two year warranty!

My advice would be that when you narrow it down to a few choices that meet your needs, pick the one with the longest warranty! All RV's have issues out of the factory, so don't limit your self to just one year to get them resolved. You don't use a motorhome any where near as often as a car, so it can take a while for everything to turn up.

Whatever you decide, be happy and safe camping and traveling! 🙂

My husband said it was not a Dodge, but he also is sure that it was either a 19'or 21' class C with a slide. We've not seen that particular RV since that time; maybe it wasn't popular. And it was brand new when we saw it about 4 years ago.

I saw a picture of the Dodge based Class C you are talking about recently.
I can not find it.
I remember reading they were built only during the 1990s by a small
company they usually only builds TT.

i think the OP already got his answer 6 posts back. i do not recall any slides on these single rear wheel rigs.

Any idea on price range for the Phoenix Cruiser?
The prices for the new and used ones are on their site,
Phoenix USA has an interactive pricing calculator HERE where you input model and options. At the end it adds a factory-direct discount. To be honest with you, I think you can negotiate a few % lower yet. The best deal you will be able to negotiate seems to be in the September/October time frame which is their slowest production time of year. I think the factory shuts down in December.

They take in trades of all kinds and offer financing too.

The beauty in ordering one versus one ready-made, you make it just the way you want it. And you really don't save anything (maybe a tad) buying ready-made unless that rig was used as a show model in RV shows. The factory is exceptional in accommodating special requests and apply or delete the cost accordingly without gouging.

If you want to talk "Price", you will be working with Earl Robbins there. He along with the rest of Phoenix are straight shooters. No dealer style game playing.
