Got to go to Lazy Days in Tampa while in town visiting the inlaws last week. We really like the Winnebago Vista bunk models but are really worried about 30A service and one roof air in a 31’ unit ( we live in Texas) What are the options to add a second air in the bedroom in such a unit? Is this a common upgrade by the dealer?

If you want cool air in the day keep looking. Cool to sleep... then one might be adequate.

You really should have 2 air conditioners in a rig that long. The general industry rule is anything over 26 foot needs two. When I was shopping for a rig I liked the Vista also, but I went with a new Greyhawk. It is 30 amps but both air conditioners are 1100 watts each. Get one with two to begin with and you'll be happy on those really hot days.

Then IMHO the solution is to keep looking.
The rig is way too big for one AC in Texas or anywhere truly hot.
You could modify a new rig to 50A but you still don't have the wiring for a second air.

i interpreted the OP as they found an RV they like but have not yet purchased. without an Energy Mgmt System to manage the 24-available amps two AC units would be hard pressed to run simultaneously.

keep looking.

With enough money and time you can modify anything, but it's a lot easier and cheaper to buy an RV with 50A service and two A/Cs.

No way would I buy that unit with only one A/C.

Check with Winnebago. Many units have the second AC unit as an option.

some rv,s are pre wired for a second ac unit. some where on the spec sheet it should say, not a hard job to mount a second unit, but 30amp is pushing the limet.

I bought a portable ac on wheels. Run an extension cord to the 115 plug on the pole to supplement the cooling.
