AC problem

Heading west today on I-40 today outside of Amarillo. Must be a 100 outside so I crank up the generator (10k) and turn on the front AC. Everything is working fine for the first couple of hours. Then I noticed it was getting pretty warm in the coach. I checked the breakers and sure enough I had flipped a breaker. Reset it and everything was OK for about 30 minutes. Then the AC quit again and breaker wasn't tripped. Our Zephyr has three ACs and the middle and bedroom Acs are working just fine. I did not have them on when we were traveling. Just the front one. When I try to start it I can hear a "thump" but it just won't start. The breaker is OK. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

My first guess is the fan motor. If the capacitor or windings failed while running, it could have tripped the breaker. Now with the capacitor or windings open, there is no short to trip the breaker and the thud you hear is the compressor starting. Just a guess. You really have to go up top to see whats working or not
