AC unit malfunction

We have a 2010 Fleetwood Fiesta Class A 36b with two Airxcel 48000 series roof top Air Conditioners. Recently they now run for a while then shut off for a few seconds then come back on. In addition the back unit pushes far less air than the front which itself is not as powerful as it has been in the past. Because the screws no longer hold up the filter covers we have rigged 3M air filders over the covers which we just changed last week. Any suggestions before we spend a billion dollars on professional repairs?

Kinda sounds like they're freezing up. I would make sure the coils themselves are clean. You should be able to see them after removing the filter and looking up inside the units.
