Advise Please

The wife and I bought a 1989 Safari Serengetti class A motorhome in need of a few repairs and needing a overall remodel.... tried to strip and refinish cabinets but the wood was just not lending itself to a simple strip and refinish so we ended up painting all of them. Counter-tops have been re tiled and sealed, walls have been redone as well as the headliner. Now we are down to flooring. My wife wants laminate flooring or floating vinyl plank....I am leaning towards ceramic tile in the bath and hardwood throughout the rest of the coach....as far as possible resale is there any suggestions on which would help or hurt resale? We are looking to use it a couple of years and possibly go back to a 5th wheel.....

Consider cork. Durable and light weight. You can get virtualy any finish.

I agree with a couple of the above posters. If it is about $ at resale, put in as little $ as needed to make it look decent. If it about your personal aesthetic, pay at least as much attention to your spouse's tastes as your own. And weight does matter, especially if she always had a relative low carry capacity, so also keep an eye on weight.

It will come down to two things. How much added weight, and is it what the wife wants. Any thing else is irrelevant.

The rig will be nearly 30 years old when you go to sell it. Flooring will have little effect on the resale. If your goal is to recoup as much as possible, spend as little as possible on any upgrade or cosmetic repair, because it is all money you will never recover.

With all the dust I collected under old carpets, I think marble come lighter.
I had strong floor on the bus, so did not had to do any reinforcement.
Here it how the mid entrance look like comparing to lousy carpet in bedroom.

You may want to keep weight in mind. Not sure how much cargo capacity your rig has but you would be using some of it up with heavy materials.

I have already put down a luan underlayment on the whole floor....I did not think of marble though.....not fond of laminate.... I want to look closely at the vinyl plank also.... at current prices I am leaning towards hardwood.... looks great also.

Did you check how strong is the floor for ceramic tiles?
I did put marble on couple of my RV and from practical point of view would not consider anything else. Left carpet in the bedroom and that was constant maintenance.
Laminate floors tend to make echoes.

I don't think the type of flooring would affect resale, but if you do use laminate flooring make sure it looks high quality as some of it looks cheap.
