Has anyone been successful at removing the IDEAL REST bed from any Winnebago motorhome? It must be the articulating one where the head can be lowered and raised.

I think your question was more based on what people have replaced it with given the second sentence?

Prior to 2015 or so, the pump was under the bed on the Tour/Ellipse and the hoses ran up through the part that raises. After that, Innomax (bed maker for the Ideal Rest) came up with a pump built into the foot of the bed. The idea was the bed was vacuum packed when delivered - production could set it on the wood bed base, tear open the packaging, plug it in and strap it down - done. Should be just as easy to remove.

are you looking to remove the air mattress or the whole shebang? the air mattress should be relatively simple as it's connected to the pump by two air lines. the lines at the pump end twist and pull off the pump's nipple. the lines at the mattress end are more or less "permanently" attached. the pump itself just unbolts from the floor. removing the mechanism can be done but it's a LOT of work.

I did. There are no bolts. Just unzip the top and empty the baffles. There are 2 clamps under the bed that hold the hoses to the main compressor control box. Just be careful when propping up that bed. Make sure it is very secure because it is heavy. Couple of ty wraps that need to be cut too.

Can't be too hard. Remove a few bolts and carry it out the door.
